Transportation in the Tosa-Reihoku area
Public transit options (train, bus) in the Tosa-Reihoku area are limited, so cannot be relied upon as a regular choice.
The best option here is using a rented vehicle or bicycle.
However, since the area is mountainous, do note that there are many hills and slopes.
The mountain roads can be very narrow and dangerous.
A smaller vehicle is recommended over a large one.
If you are not confident in your driving abilities, you should refrain from driving.

If traveling to the Tosa-Reihoku area from Kochi Ryoma Airport via Tokyo
An aircraft (Japan Airlines or All Nippon Airways) from Haneda Airport to Kochi Ryoma Airport takes about 80 minutes (10 flights daily).
If you book by at least one month prior, the one way fare starts from 11,000 JPY (may vary seasonally). Early bookings are encouraged.
A low cost carrier (Jetstar) operates out of Narita Airport, and you can reach Kochi Ryoma Airport in about 80 minutes. There is one flight per day (scheduled to depart around noon).
Airfare starts from 5,000 JPY, but note that seating is narrow and luggage over 7kg will incur additional costs.

You can reach the Reihoku area in about 40 minutes by rental car.
The nearest highway exit is the Otoyo Interchange.
